Information We Collect
- Account and login data: email address, Apple Sign in identifiers, display name, authentication tokens, and basic account settings.
- Uploaded files and imported content: files, links, article text, extracted text, filenames, file metadata, and other content you send to ATHENIA.
- Notes and chat sessions: messages, session titles, assistant responses, notes, reading state, attached context, and related timestamps.
- AI prompt and response data: prompts assembled from your messages and attachments, model responses, selected model names, token estimates, and generation status.
- Analytics and usage data: basic product usage events, feature usage, request metadata, device or app version information, and service logs used to operate and improve ATHENIA.
- Crash logs and diagnostics: crash reports, error messages, stack traces, performance diagnostics, device details, and server logs.
- Subscription and payment status: subscription entitlement status, renewal or cancellation state, transaction identifiers, and related App Store purchase metadata. ATHENIA does not store full payment card numbers.
How We Use Information
- Provide account access, sync, chat, document processing, summarization, speech, and app support.
- Generate AI responses, summaries, and other requested outputs.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve reliability.
- Manage subscriptions, credits, payment status, and customer support.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
AI Model Providers
ATHENIA sends user prompts, chat context, extracted text, uploaded content, selected model settings, generation status, and model responses to DeepSeek when DeepSeek is configured as the chat model provider. If you use podcasts, reading audio, speech recognition, or web research features, ATHENIA may send the requested text, audio recording, search query, source excerpts, and related request metadata to OpenAI or another configured provider for that specific feature.
Before ATHENIA sends personal data to a managed third-party AI provider, the app asks for your permission in the product flow. If you do not allow this, ATHENIA does not send that content for managed AI processing.
Do not submit content to ATHENIA unless you have the right to process it through third-party AI services.
Model Training
ATHENIA does not use your uploaded files, notes, chat sessions, prompts, or AI responses to train ATHENIA-owned foundation models. Third-party model providers process data under their own service terms and data policies. Where provider controls are available, ATHENIA will prefer settings that do not allow your content to be used for provider model training.
Service Providers and Partners
ATHENIA may share data with service providers that help operate the app, including AI model providers such as DeepSeek and OpenAI, Apple services for Sign in with Apple and App Store subscriptions, email delivery providers for login or support messages, text-to-speech providers when speech is requested, cloud hosting, database, logging, analytics, and crash diagnostic providers.
These providers are required to provide the same or equivalent protection for personal data and are allowed to process information only to provide services to ATHENIA, comply with law, or protect their systems.
Retention
We keep account records, uploaded files, notes, chat sessions, prompts, responses, and service logs for as long as needed to provide ATHENIA, support the account, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Some backups and logs may persist for a limited period after deletion before they expire from normal backup cycles.
Deletion Requests
To request account deletion or deletion of personal data, email support@athenia.cc from the email address associated with your account and include "ATHENIA data deletion request" in the subject. We may ask for information needed to verify the request. Deleting your account may remove access to saved sessions, notes, uploaded files, and subscription-linked app data, subject to legal, security, billing, and backup retention requirements.
Security
ATHENIA uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so you should avoid uploading highly sensitive information unless you understand and accept the risks.
Children
ATHENIA is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
